New details have come to light from the police operation that took place at night in Vlora, where a van was caught that was transporting a significant amount of cannabis.
In a media conference, the director of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, Ermal Muçaj, stated that after the operation, a criminal group that operated in the field of production and trafficking of narcotics was destroyed. 8 people have been arrested: Idriz Meminaj, Romir Meninaj, Emanuel Meminaj, Nertin Gjoni, Xhuljanao Gjoni, Laurent Likaj and Altin Meci, while several others have been declared wanted. According to the police, these people were transporting narcotics to Turkey, by sea.
The operation was carried out in cooperation between the police of Vlora and the RENEA forces, among which the drug seized is in the amount of 500 kg and was divided into 34 packages.

I am here today to convey to you the results of the anti-drug police operation coded "RESET", which was developed in implementation of the measures defined in the national operational plan coded "Tempulli".
This operation is the result of a procedure followed with special investigation methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora, which was initiated by the Department for Narcotics and Traffic Investigation in the Local Police Directorate of Vlora.
In the wake of successive operations developed by the structures of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, for the prevention, identification and attack of illegalities and criminal activities, following the national police mega-operation coded "Tempulli", the specialists of the Directorate's Narcotics Investigation Sector Local Police Vlora referred to the prosecuting body, where the proceeding no. 1348/2023 started, which was followed for several months, with special investigation methods.
The investigations showed that some citizens, organized as a group, carried out the criminal activities of the production and trafficking of narcotics, and were getting ready to transport a large amount of cannabis narcotic through the sea border, with the aim of trafficking to Turkey.
Based on this information, the police anti-drug operation coded "RESET" was organized and finalized, within which, the investigative structures of DVP Vlorë, with the support of the services of the Special Operational Force of DVP Vlorë, of the General Directorate of the Police of of the State and the "RENEA" Special Department, arrested the following citizens in the act:
Idriz Meminaj, 39 years old, resident of Trevllazer village;
Romir Meminaj, 49 vjeç, banues në fshatin Trevllazër;
Emanuel Meminaj, 22 vjeç, banues në fshatin Trevllazër;
Nertin Gjoni, 39 vjeç, banues në fshatin Babicë;
Xhuljano Gjoni, 30 vjeç, banues në fshatin Babicë.
Në vijim të operacionit u ndaluan shtetasit:
Laurent Likaj, 37 vjeç, banues në Vlorë;
Altin Meçi, 50 vjeç, banues në Patos.
Gjithashtu u shpallën në kërkim dhe disa shtetas të tjerë, banues në Vlorë dhe në Tiranë, gjenealitetet e të cilëve nuk bëhen me dije, për arsye hetimore.
Nga hetimet intensive të kryera në kuadër të këtij operacioni rezultoi se këta shtetas vepronin në mënyrë të organizuar, për të trafikuar lëndë narkotike cannabis sativa, drejt shtetit turk, nëpërmjet rrugëve detare.
Këta shtetas kishin përpunuar dhe ambalazhuar lëndën narkotike në magazinën e 2 vëllezërve Idriz Meminaj dhe Romir Meminaj, dhe më pas, me automjetin e drejtuar nga shtetasi Nertin Gjoni, po e transportonin në afërsi të vijës ujore, për ta transportuar më pas me rrugë detare, drejt Turqisë.
Falë veprimeve të shpejta dhe të koordinuara të forcave pjesëmarrëse në këtë operacion është bërë e mundur që në lagjen “11 Janari”, të bllokohet automjeti që drejtohej nga shtetasi Nertin Gjoni.
Gjatë kontrollit në automjet, Policia gjeti dhe sekuestroi 34 pako të madhësive të ndryshme, me lëndë narkotike cannabis sativa në formë boçeje, me peshe totale 500 kilogramë.
Operacioni ka vijuar me kontrollin e magazinës, në fshatin Trevllazër, ku janë kapur në flagrancë shtetasit Idriz Meminaj dhe Romir Meminaj.
Gjithashtu, në vijim të operacionit janë kapur dhe disa shtetas të përfshirë në këtë rast, si dhe vijon puna intensive për kapjen e shtetasve të tjerë të shpallur në kërkim.
Gjatë kontrolleve në banesa janë gjetur dhe sekuestruar 2 armë zjarri, 4 automjete dhe 8 celularë.
Nga hetimet intensive të kryera në kuadër të këtij operacioni ka rezultuar se këta shtetas vepronin të organizuar në formën e një grupi , për të prodhuar, ambalazhuar dhe trafikuar lëndë narkotike kanabis, jashtë vendit.
Operacioni është në vijim dhe në bashkëpunim me Prokurorinë e Vlorës vijojnë hetimet e thelluara për identifikimin dhe kapjen e shtetasve të tjerë të implikuar në këtë veprimtari kriminale.
Operacioni policor “RESET”, një shembull i bashkëpunimit korrekt, ligjor dhe profesional mes Policisë së Vlorës dhe Prokurorisë.
