A man from Hendon in London died in a car crash abroad while reportedly going to pick up a phone charger for his best friend's wedding.

Daniel Rjabcevs, 28, traveled to Albania to attend his friend's wedding, which took place on June 6.

According to reports in Albania, two vehicles – a Fiat and an Audi – collided. Three people are reported to have been injured, one of the drivers and two passengers. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, confirmed Daniel's brother, Vladlens Merkulovs.

He said: “During the wedding celebrations, he briefly left, possibly to buy a phone charger from a nearby shop, although this has never been fully confirmed.” “Shortly afterwards, he was involved in a horrific road accident on the Fier-Levan highway near a place known as the Lake Bend.”

In a tribute to his estranged brother on GoFundMe, Mr. Merkulovs said: “Our family is grieving.” “Daniel was a loving son, brother, friend and a person who brought kindness and positivity to the lives of those around him.

“His loss has left an unimaginable void in our family.” A fundraiser has been organized for Daniel to cover funeral expenses and travel expenses for family members so that his body can be transported from Albania to Latvia.

The interior design architect worked at Northbanks Design in central London for over a year.

It is understood he has connections to north-west London and attended schools in Harrow and Finchley before moving on to higher education and then progressing in his career in interior design.
