A serious accident with fatal consequences occurred on Monday morning, July 15, in the San Giovanni area of the municipality of Motta di Livenza, in Treviso. A 23-year-old man, Kevin Anghel, a resident of Pordenone and of Albanian origin, lost his life after losing control of his car while trying to avoid a carabinieri patrol.

According to official sources, the young man, who was driving an Alfa Romeo Brera, accelerated as soon as he noticed the carabinieri checkpoint. Although the police did not pursue him directly, as they recognized the vehicle and reported it to the operations center, the accident occurred a few minutes later.

The car skidded at high speed and crashed into two trees on the side of the road, splitting in two from the force of the collision. Pieces of the vehicle were scattered over a wide area, and one piece even hit a van passing nearby.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene immediately. Kevin was still alive, but trapped in the rubble. Firefighters worked for minutes to extract him from the destroyed cabin, while emergency doctors made extraordinary efforts to save him. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old died on the way to the Oderzo hospital due to his severe injuries.

During the intervention, the carabinieri found several blocks of cannabis scattered on the asphalt, which are believed to have been inside the car and thrown out after the crash. The exact amount of narcotics is still being verified, while authorities confirmed that Kevin had a previous criminal record related to drugs.

Currently, the investigations have been taken over by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri in Treviso, who are working to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the event and to determine any possible responsibility, especially in relation to the transport and possession of drugs. The family of the deceased, who has long been settled in Pordenone, has been notified of the tragedy.
