The 39-year-old from Vlora, Nardi Idrizi alias Fatbardh Idrizi, wanted for the injury of three people on December 16, 2023 in Gazi, Athens, has surrendered himself to the Greek police.
According to the police, he arrived at the headquarters of the Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime (DAOE) yesterday afternoon and was arrested.
The incident in question occurred in the early hours of December 16, 2023 in Gazi, where the 39-year-old, after an argument with three people outside a bar, opened fire on them, wounding them. He stated that after the incident he had fled to Albania and had already decided to surrender.
Two brothers from Crete, along with their friend, had come to Athens for a few hours to celebrate one of their own bachelorette parties. While walking down the street, they argued with the passengers of an SUV.
A few meters below, the vehicle stopped and the driver and passenger got out. A fight ensued and one of the people in the SUV opened fire, wounding the three young men in the head.
After the incident, the police declared the main perpetrator, Nardi Idrizi, wanted, while arresting his friend Emiljano Jakupi, 35 years old. The latter was also wanted as a participant in the murder of 40-year-old Delvina man, Pëllumb Islami, on February 21, 2023 in "Nea Ionia" in Athens. Jakupi had criminal records for drugs, car theft and house burglary.
Nardi Ismet Idrizi, 39 years old, born in Durres and residing in Vlora, is also known as Fatbardh Idrizi. His brother, Leonard Idrizi, was part of the "Coles" gang in Vlora and was killed. After his death, he took his brother's name.
On 15.07.2013, Nardi Idrizi was sentenced by the Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes to 13 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses of “Murder in other aggravating circumstances” attempted, to the detriment of citizen Isuf Lamaj, “Murder in other aggravating circumstances” attempted, to the detriment of citizen Besnik Brahimaj, “Armed robbery” committed in collaboration, in the event of 23.08.2012 at the Alpet gas station, “Unauthorized possession of weapons of war”, “Robbery with violence” to the detriment of citizen Viktor Gjoleka, “Armed robbery” committed in collaboration, in the event of 11.05.2012 at the Flamingo Casino, “Unauthorized possession of weapons of war”, “Bank robbery” committed in collaboration (in the event of 13.12.2010), "Unauthorized possession of weapons of war."
In an episode on 23.08.2012 after a robbery in Vlora, Nardi Idrizi opened fire on a police patrol where police officers Isuf Lamaj and Besnik Brahimaj were. He was arrested in Vlora in August 2012.
In 2022, it was discovered that this person had received an illegal sentence reduction in Fier prison during 2020, after the Prosecution investigated an abuse of office scheme in this prison.
In April 2024, Nardi Idrizi was again wanted by Greek police as part of a group that was receiving stolen goods from various robbers. In February 2024, Greek police arrested Nardi's brother, Joni Idrizi, after he was wanted in Albania for violating the security measure. He also had a previous conviction in Albania in 2012 for armed robbery of banks, casinos and gas stations.
