Hackers attacked the online website, Tirana Municipality: Registration in nurseries and kindergartens suspended

The official website of the Municipality of Tirana, Trana.al, was attacked today by Iranian hackers and went offline. It is about the "Homeland Justice" hacker network, the same ones that carried out the major cyber attack in 2022, against online state services in our country.

Meanwhile, the registration process for nurseries and kindergartens, which is offered on the Municipality's online website, has been postponed due to the attack. The General Directorate of Nurseries and Kindergartens has reacted, announcing that registration has been suspended until the platform is operational.

"We inform you that due to a problem with the servers of the Municipality of Tirana, the link to the Application Platform for the Registration of Children in Public Nurseries and Kindergartens e-femijet tirana.al is not functional. In this context, the application process will be suspended until the moment the platform is functional. We will inform you later when the platform will be functional again and on the extension of the application deadline", announces the General Directorate of Nurseries and Kindergartens.

Since the early hours of this Friday morning, the official website of the Municipality of Tirana has been inaccessible. This attack has thus "paralyzed" the work of this institution as well as the registration of children in kindergartens and nurseries, as this process is carried out online on the Municipality's website and the deadline is June 22.

The attack by the Iranian group comes at a time when Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is in prison and this institution is being temporarily led by the acting mayor, Anuela Ristani.
