Secret investigations/ From Eldi Dizdari to the "Fracascia"

After 4 years of secret investigations against the Calabrian mafia organization, the German police today raided the Italian mafia 'Ndrangheta in coordination with the authorities in Italy, Belgium, France, Spain, Romania, Brazil and Panama.

According to German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), police involved in the international operation executed over 100 arrest warrants against suspects believed to be involved in cocaine trafficking, money laundering and tax evasion, among other things.

Several organizations were created to traffic weapons and cocaine. The first reconstructed association concerns the Nirta family, "Versu" of San Luca, which was based in Brazil, represented by the fugitive Vincenzo Pasquino, captured in 2021 together with the drug boss, Rocco Morabito.

The second belongs to the Mammoliti "Fischiante" family of Bovalino with 'knots' in Puglia, Abruzzo, Lazio, Tuscany and Lombardy and that has direct contacts with South American cocaine suppliers and international traffickers such as Denis Matoshi (Eldi Dizdari), currently absconding in Dubai.

The third association belongs to the Strangio "Fracascia" family linked to the Nirta-Strangio gangs involved in the Duisburg massacre of 2007. This third organization, according to investigators, had stable branches in Genk (Belgium), Munich (Germany) , Spain and Canberra (Australia).
