The powerful earthquake shakes Albania during the night, the tremors are felt as far as Podgorica

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 occurred in the Adriatic Sea near the coast of Albania in the early morning of Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 2:42 am.
The earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 10 km below the epicenter near Tirana, Tirana District, Albania, early in the morning on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 2:42 a.m. local time as reported by the German Geosciences Research Center ( GFZ).
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.6 earthquake.
From preliminary seismic data, the earthquake was probably felt by many people in the epicenter area.
It must not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Laç, which is located 29 km from the epicenter, Lezhë 29 km away and Durrës 34 km away, the tremors of the earthquake were felt.
Weak tremors may have been felt in Tirana, located 50 km from the epicenter, Tivar 57 km away and Podgorica 92 km away.
