Isa Rexhepaj died 5 days ago in a hut, while he was out fishing. He was found this Friday morning by his brother.
According to the testimony he gave to News24, he said he notified the police, who, after going to the scene, conducted investigative actions.
Although the body was taken to the Saranda morgue this Friday morning, it has not been moved from there, as investigative authorities requested that the body be taken to Tirana for a more in-depth autopsy to discover the causes of the 65-year-old's death.
But for several hours, the body has not left for Tirana, as due to the long days of being dead, the body has decomposed, and 3 institutions in Saranda are unable to find a common language as to who is responsible for transporting the body to the Tirana morgue.
The Saranda Hospital tells the family that the State Police is responsible. The latter holds the Saranda Prosecutor's Office responsible, while the Prosecutor's Office says that the Police are responsible for taking the body to Tirana.
"I went to get him, he had been dead for four days. I called the police, the ambulance came and they took my brother to the morgue. The prosecution says we will take him to Tirana, but he cannot be taken because his flesh has fallen off, it has turned black, and it smells like carrion. I am here in front of the morgue, they will not give me my brother's body. The prosecution says the Police have it, the Police says the hospital has it, the hospital says the Police have it. I don't know what to do, I want to bury my brother, to do his last rites," the brother told News24.
