Italy/ A Romanian stabs an Albanian 7 times, injures his wife and beats his minor son

The dynamics of events surrounding the bloody stabbing that occurred last Saturday evening on Corso a Rovigo in Italy, near the newspaper kiosk on the San Bortolo side, may be more complex than expected.
Because, while it is undoubtedly true that the most sensational aspect of the story is the serious injury of a 36-year-old Albanian man, shot in the chest and abdomen several times – it seems to be seven – so many that he had to undergo surgery in hospital, and that the suspected attacker, a 24-year-old Romanian, already known to the police, is under investigation for assault, it is equally true that there is more. At least, according to what emerges from the actions taken so far by the Prosecutor's Office, after the first intervention by the police station.
In fact, there are currently three suspects, always for injuries. On the one hand, as mentioned, the 24-year-old Romanian, under investigation on charges of injuring the 36-year-old and his wife; on the other, the same 36-year-old Albanian who ended up in the hospital and a 23-year-old relative, for the injuries of the young Romanian. In short, the scenario may not be as clear as it seemed at first.
Meanwhile, from his hospital bed, the 36-year-old broke his silence and contacted the editorial staff of "La Voce di Rovigo" via social networks to tell his version of the facts. Above all, there would be resentment between the Romanian and the 23-year-old Albanian, a relative of the 36-year-old.
“On Friday evening,” he says, “I got a call from the partner of the Romanian boy’s mother, a person I’ve known for a long time; we wanted to clarify what had happened to my 23-year-old nephew. When I went out of his house on the street, with my wife and children, because I was already outside with them, the mother’s partner came down and we started talking. At that moment, the Romanian boy came from behind and stabbed me seven times in different places, he also injured my wife and beat my 13-year-old son.”
The reconstruction of the defense of the young Romanian, entrusted to the lawyer Fabrizio De Maio of the court of Lagonegro (Potenza), is completely different. He wanted to take a position in defense of the 24-year-old with an official note.
"My client," he explains, "told me that he was attacked in his home by several armed men, for no real reason. He defended himself. He is innocent. He was the victim of an act of violence that cannot be ignored."
On the investigation front, technical checks are likely to be carried out soon of the seized knife, a blade with a total length of 38 centimeters, 16 of which are made up of the blade, as well as of the 36-year-old's clothes, soaked in his blood.
The scenario, in short, seems undoubtedly more complex than initially revealed, with two radically different versions of the facts. It will therefore be up to the investigations to unravel this confusion.
