Italy/Albanian woman found lifeless tied to a tree, no one charged yet

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, May 2, on the body of the 27-year-old from Montecilfone, Italy, found dead yesterday evening, April 28.

The Larino Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigative file, while the Carabinieri are continuing their investigations to clarify the dynamics of the facts.

The young woman, of Albanian origin, was found tied to a tree near the so-called "Sheriff's Bridge", along the road between Larino and Bifernina.

Her ex-husband, a 51-year-old man, went to look for her, worried that she might commit some extreme act. It was he who asked for help. The Carabinieri intervened at the scene and could do nothing but confirm his death.

The man was questioned at length at the barracks, offering his version of the facts to investigators, who are maintaining maximum confidentiality. At the moment, there are no people under investigation.

The woman, a mother of a seven-year-old child, lived alone with her son after her relationship with her husband ended. She was known in the village for her commitment to her work at a center for immigrants and for her strong bond with her son, who was described by everyone as the center of her life.

Only an autopsy will be able to clarify the true causes of death. Meanwhile, Montecilfone remains gripped by the pain of losing a young mother and the silence of a truth that has not yet been written. Numerous messages of condolence appeared on social media: "There are no words, rest in peace and take care of your little one," wrote one friend. "A girl who always smiles," recalled another.
