Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetcea has been selected as the referee for the Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Real Madrid at La Cartuja in Seville, on Saturday, April 26.

The referee from Biscay has the full confidence of the Technical Referees Committee and has therefore been appointed to referee what is considered the most important and exciting match in Spanish football. For De Burgos, this will be the first time he has refereed a Copa del Rey final.

Meanwhile, he has previously refereed “El Clasico” in Spanish football. He has refereed two Spanish Super Cup finals between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The first, in 2018, when the Super Cup was played over two legs. On that occasion, he refereed the first leg in which Madrid won 1-3 against Barcelona. The last, with a single leg, was in 2023 and Barça won 1-3 against Real Madrid.
