Bags of drugs seized at the border with Greece, traffickers escape police

The Border Police in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Korça DVP has prevented an attempt to traffic narcotics towards Greece, writes A2 CNN. During patrolling in the border area between the villages of Vidohovë and Ponçarë in Devoll, near pyramids 43 and 44, the police services found two people transporting suspicious bags.
After seeing the police services, the citizens abandoned their bags and fled towards the depths of Greek territory. After examining the bags, the investigation team discovered 20 packages containing approximately 32.3 kilograms of suspected cannabis.
In cooperation with the Korça Border and Migration Police, it has been possible to identify one of the persons involved, while searches continue for his capture and the identification of other accomplices.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions. The Police emphasize their determination to combat drug trafficking and ensure security at the country's borders.
