Conflict in Pogradec/Muçllari: The mayor hit me with a brick, entered my property several times
Jetmir Muçllari has reacted after media reports accusing him of violence against the village headman. In his response, Muçllari categorically denies the accusations, claiming that he himself was the victim of an aggression carried out by Ilir Tasellari, whom he describes as a "self-proclaimed headman with no official function."
According to Muçllari, the clash between them has a longer history and stems from property conflicts. He says that Tasellari has repeatedly entered his private property without legal right, considering a fenced and properly documented territory as a public road. “The works on my property were done with permission. He entered by force and constantly provoked me,” Muçllari declares.
The latest incident, according to him, escalated when Tasellari hit him first with a brick and then with a piece of tile, causing a head wound and blood clots in his eye. “Representatives of the municipality and IKMT were present and determined that we were the injured party,” he adds.
Muçllari also accuses Tasellari of illegal construction and occupation of public territory, including a hidden basement in his hotel and encroachment near the village cemetery. He claims that Tasellari has previously been involved in similar conflicts with local residents and links him to a “structured group of illegal interests.”
Regarding the footage published in the media, Muçllari says that the video is manipulated and does not include the moment when he is hit first. “The tools with which I was injured are currently in the police and will serve as evidence in the investigation,” he concludes the statement.
