Kabashi passed away at the age of 75, after suffering from a serious illness for some time. For several days he was intubated and in a serious condition in the hospital.
Mirush Kabashi, the well-known screen figure who has shared so many roles and emotions with the public will remain strong in his memory from the famous role of Shazivar to "Concert in 1936" to Socrates.

Who was Mirush Kabashi?

The well-known artist left behind a rich artistic legacy, as an actor of about 100 roles in theater and films. One of the most prominent roles was that of Socrates in the monodrama "The True Apology of Socrates".

Kabashi has also been described as one of the greatest interpreters of poetry in Albania.

His contribution is diverse, both in Albanian filmography and in theater, to which he dedicated a good part of his life.

Mirush Kabashi was born in 1948 in the city of Shkodra. His father's family was originally from Gjakova, while Kabashi himself grew up in the coastal city of Durrës.
Meanwhile, in 1970 he graduated as an actor at the High Institute of Arts in Tirana and started working at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" theater in Durrës.

There, he continued until 1994, also performing the duties of director, 1991-1993.
Then he worked at Albanian Television, in the Artistic Programs department as a creator and presenter, and from 2002 onwards at the National Theatre.

Since 1985, with interrupted periods, he has been active as a teacher of "Acting Mastery" at the Academy of Arts.
He has been honored with the high titles "Honour of the Nation", "Deserved Artist" and "Great Master of Work".

Some of the films in which he has acted are: Provincial chronicle, Us and Lenin, Night, Even so and so, Rails, Telephone of a morning, Friend from the village, An incident at the port, and many other artistic pieces.

At the National Festival of Professional Theaters in 1989, Kabashi was declared "Best Actor" with the role of Sadush Neziri in Ruzhdi Pulaha's comedy The shadow of another. With this role, at the Balkan Theater Festival held in Corinth, Greece, he was recognized as one of the best actors. In 2002, he won the "Best Actor" award as a protagonist at the "Apollon 2002" Acting Festival with the role of Noka in Ilir Bezhani's comedy "How well did he die".

In 1997, in the ninth edition of the Experimental Theater Festival organized in Cairo, Egypt, Mirush Kabashi was awarded the "Golden Sphinx" as the most successful performer among one thousand participating actors from forty-six countries of the world.
