The Madrid boss gave some clues as to the identity of the player, saying it is a midfielder or striker who plays in the Champions League, but not in the Premier League. He ruled out names such as Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Michael Olise and Jeremy Doku.
However, just a day later, international media reported a surprising development. According to The Guardian, The Telegraph, Spanish newspaper AS and renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid's real target is Michael Oliseh.
The French striker, who currently plays for Bayern Munich, is seen as one of the most prominent talents in European football and the Spanish club's leaders are willing to invest a full 150 million euros for his transfer.
