Cocaine laboratory in Frakull/ Drug trafficking from Colombia to Albania, SPAK

SPAK has investigated another episode of drug trafficking from Colombia to Albania.

According to the official announcement, the number of identified persons has increased to 15. It is also learned that searches were conducted in several apartments and vehicles of the persons involved in this incident. As a result, four vehicles and two phones were seized.

It is also clarified that this criminal proceeding is related to investigations into the trafficking during 2022 of a quantity of 485.5 kilograms of cocaine-type narcotics, imported from Colombia and hidden in a shipment of "artificial organic fertilizer", which was seized on 24.11.2022 in Frakull e Madhe, Fier.

SPAK investigates another episode of international cocaine trafficking, the number of identified persons rises to 15.

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, in cooperation with the State Police and the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), has conducted further investigative actions within the framework of criminal proceedings no./141/1.1 of 2026 (without author) related to the international trafficking of narcotics from Colombia to Albania.

On 4.3.2026, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with decision no. 11, accepted the request of the Special Prosecution Office for the imposition of a personal security measure against 5 persons under investigation and imposed the security measure "arrest in prison".

On 5.3.2026, in implementation of this decision, the State Police structures have made it possible to execute the security measure for citizens K. Gj., M. Gj. and AZ, while citizens K. (alias A.) M. and DK have been declared wanted and work continues to locate and arrest them in cooperation with international partners.

Criminal proceedings no. 141/1.1 of 2026 derives from criminal proceedings no. 141 of 2022 and no. 141/1 of 2023 of the Special Prosecution Office.

Earlier, on 13.1.2026, the Special Prosecution Office decided to separate the criminal proceedings no. 141/1 of 2023 and register them as criminal proceedings no. 141/1.1 of 2026, continuing the investigations into the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics", "Production and sale of narcotics", "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group", provided for by articles 283/a, 283/2, 28/4, 333/a and 334/1 of the Criminal Code.

This criminal proceeding is related to investigations into the trafficking during 2022 of a quantity of 485.5 kilograms of cocaine-type narcotics, imported from Colombia and hidden in a shipment of "artificial organic fertilizer", which was seized on 24.11.2022 in Frakull e Madhe, Fier.

For this trafficking episode, 10 Albanian citizens have already been convicted: N. Gj., V. Ç., D. Ç., KV (alias K.), Z. Ç., EF, RM, JM, BM and MR, while the trial against a Colombian citizen, SRR, continues.

Following the investigations, it was possible to identify five other suspected accomplices in this criminal activity. Consequently, on 19.02.2026, the registration in criminal proceedings of citizens K. (alias A.) M., M. Gj., DK, AZ and K. Gj., against whom there are reasonable suspicions, based on evidence, of committing the above-mentioned criminal offenses, was ordered.

As part of the investigations and with the authorization of the Special Court, several searches were carried out in homes, vehicles and on the persons involved. As a result, the following were seized:

Investigations continue to gather additional evidence and identify other individuals who may be involved in this criminal activity.
