Stranded at sea, 5 foreign tourists rescued in Filikuri Bay

Five foreign tourists have been rescued by the Himara Border Police over the past 24 hours, following two incidents that occurred in Filikuri Bay.
Thanks to the quick intervention of the officers, four tourists who had been stranded at sea due to bad weather and a physically injured Australian tourist were located and evacuated in time, avoiding more serious consequences.
Police announcement:
In the first case, four foreign tourists, two Swedish citizens and two from the United Kingdom, who had kayaked from the Potami area towards Filikuri, lost contact with the group and remained stranded due to strong winds and waves.
After the notification, the Border Police services immediately organized a search along the coastline and managed to locate them near the "Red Stone". The tourists were safely evacuated.
In the second case, an Australian citizen sought help after suffering physical injuries and being stranded in Filikuri Bay.
The Border Police vessel was immediately deployed, which made it possible to locate and transport her to the Port of Himara, where she was then sent to the hospital for medical treatment.
Tourists thanked the Police services for the immediate response and professionalism shown.
The Border Police continues to be maximally engaged in serving citizens, visitors and tourists and, in this context, invites citizens to call 112 if necessary.
