Over 11,700 fines and 15 arrests / Tirana Traffic Police takes stock of 1 week

The Traffic Police in Tirana imposed 11,721 fines on vehicle drivers over the course of 1 week, while 15 people were arrested and prosecuted.

In the work balance of the Road Police Commissariat, it is stated that 5,638 administrative measures were imposed for wrong posture, while another 1,319 were imposed for speeding beyond the permitted norms.

Weekly results of the Tirana Traffic Police Station (30.06.2024 – 06.07.2024) 

During the last week, strict measures have been implemented to maintain order and road safety:

15 Arrests and criminal proceedings:

• 3 people for driving under the influence of alcohol.
• 8 people for not having a driving license.
• 3 people for violating traffic rules.
• 1 person for driving under the influence of narcotics

Administrative measures:

• 11,721 administrative measures imposed, an average of 1,674 per day.
•102 measures for black windows.
• 1,319 measures for speeding over the permitted rates.
• 373 measures for mobile phone use while driving.
• 1,248 measures for not wearing a seat belt.
• 14 measures for disobeying the "Stop" signal.
• 779 measures for not giving priority to citizens.
• 5,638 measures for wrong posture.
• 963 measures for non-use of the protective helmet/phosphorescent vest, Article 169.

Suspensions and blockages:

• 11 cases of suspension for driving under the influence of alcohol.
• 22 cases of speeding.
• 26 different cases
• 5 vehicles were blocked, including 1 with foreign license plates.
