Millions of euros in cash in 50-liter barrels, details emerge from cocaine trafficking network

Communications on SKY ECC from members of the criminal cocaine trafficking network, hit by SPAK on Tuesday, have revealed to investigators unusual ways of hiding cash.

Sources close to SPAK confirmed that in an August 2020 conversation between brothers Isa Aliu and Shpëtim Aliu, the former tells him that he has 6 million euros in cash.

A few days later, Shpëtim Aliu tells him that there will be another 20 million to come, while guiding him on ways to hide the cash, including burying it, placed in 50-liter barrels.

SPAK has raised suspicions that Isa Aliu received at least 30 million euros from his brother Shpëtim Aliu, also known as Salvadore, which he invested in the construction field.
