Operation "Coordination"/ Police discover 2 cases of cannabis cultivation in Vau i Dejës, seize over 2700 narcotic plants

The State Police has launched a wide-ranging operation across the country, codenamed "Coordination", to prevent, identify and crack down on attempts to cultivate narcotic plants.
Local Police Directorates, National Security Forces and Border Police were engaged in this operation.
Within the framework of this plan, the services of the Vau i Dejës Police Commissariat have identified two cases of attempted cultivation of narcotic plants in the village of Vig. The use of drones and information provided by police intelligence made it possible to discover 2,200 plants suspected of being cannabis sativa cultivated in the ground and 578 other seedlings cultivated in containers.
Some of the plants and seedlings were seized as material evidence, while the rest were destroyed by burning at the scene. The police continue to work to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of this illegal activity.
Meanwhile, the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra for further action.
