Klevis Ndreca and Daniel Gjeloshi, who were the perpetrators who used firearms in the brawl that occurred on Saturday in Laç, have been remanded in custody.
The incident left 5 people injured, while a day later, on May 4, 24-year-old Geri Bitri lost his life in hospital.
The police stressed that the fight started with the vehicles rubbing against each other, which then resulted in the use of weapons, while what is striking in this fatal act for their lives is the fact that two young boys carry weapons without fear of the police or the law. The boy who surrendered to the police is called Klevis Ndreca. He was in one of the vehicles, while he testified that he pulled out the weapon and shot them first because 'I knew they were armed'! And unfortunately, that is how it turned out.
In the other vehicle where the other three young men were, one of them, facing bullets, pulled out his gun and returned fire. As a result of this collision, a woman was also injured, who happened to be there by chance and even tried to get in between them so that the boys would not fight. But it was too late! Kelvis Ndreca was handcuffed, and the same fate befell one of the young men from the other side, who had thrown away the gun he was carrying with him in order to lose track.
Klevisi surrendered the weapon upon arrival at the police station, while in his testimony to the investigation team he emphasized that he was forbidden to talk to them to clarify the car crash, but since they were armed he preferred to shoot first, for fear of being killed. In fact, the police did not state in any of their reports on Saturday or Sunday where or how the crash-accident occurred, which means that he was not present at all when the two vehicles collided, as the conflict between the young men could have been avoided.
Referring to data received from Laçi, regarding the serious incident with one person killed and 4 injured, it was reported that everything was momentary and that the boys had not had any previous conflict.
Klevis Ndreca, 28, has been arrested, after surrendering himself, for his involvement in the serious incident that occurred in Laç, near the former District Court, where several young people were injured and one person lost his life. This was announced by the Lezha police yesterday, as they gave details about the loss of Gerald Bitri's life. Ndreca, who was born and raised in Laç, was in the car with Amarildo Ndoj, from Sandzhak, 26, while Daniel Gjeloshi, also from Laçi, 26, was traveling with Liridon Ismalaj, 26, also from Laçi, while Gerald Bitri, 24, was also with them. According to police data, the verbal conflict between the young people started after the two cars accidentally collided due to the car mirrors, which caused a disagreement between the young people. After a few minutes, the situation escalated and turned into the use of firearms. The young men had stopped and tried to explain themselves, but as soon as they got out of the cars, Ndreca pulled out his pistol and shot.
The incident ended with two people seriously injured, and tragically, Gerald Bitri died in hospital from his injuries. In addition to him, Amarildo Ndoj and a street vendor were accidentally injured during the shooting. Daniel Gjeloshi also returned fire, but did not hit anyone. The gun used by Gjeloshi was found a few meters away from the scene.
Klevis Ndreca, after the incident, surrendered to the police and handed over the murder weapon. In his testimony, Ndreca stated that he shot because he felt afraid and thought that the young men had weapons and were trying to hit him. The police have launched investigations to fully clarify the incident and to determine the exact cause of the use of weapons in this conflict between boys of the same age and born and raised in Laç, who it is impossible not to know each other! / Gazeta Panorama
