Albanian Antonjo Selami, 48, has been sentenced to 45 months in prison for one of the largest cannabis farms ever discovered in Scotland.

He was part of a group looking after over 6,000 cannabis plants in an abandoned building in Greenock, with a potential market value of up to £3.6 million.

During the operation, police found numerous sophisticated drug cultivation equipment, such as special lights, fans, water and trash tanks, as well as a living space for the people staying there.

Selami, who will be deported after serving his sentence, was sentenced the same as two other Albanians involved, Glendian Daci, 26, and Aurel Xhoka, 33, who were sentenced in December.

The court found that Selami was an employee at the cannabis farm and not the organizer, but stressed that he was aware of the extent of the criminal activity. He pleaded guilty and therefore his sentence was reduced from five years to 45 months.

Police Scotland said the operation had a major impact on disrupting the supply of drugs in the country and warned that they would continue to fight organised crime.
