Heavy snowfall in Qafë Thore, ARRSH: We call on drivers to be careful

In Qafë Thore, snowfall continues at high intensity, creating potential traffic difficulties. Currently, two snowplows are working simultaneously to keep the road open and passable, while current traffic continues without problems.

According to weather forecasts, precipitation is expected to continue throughout the night, which may affect vehicle movement and the work of snowplows. The situation is being monitored by working groups, which are located on the ground to ensure the safety of travelers.

Authorities are calling for maximum caution, recommending drivers to wear chains and follow the instructions of field staff during the journey to Qafë Thores.

The Albanian Road Authority clarifies to the public that the road closure at the exit of the Llogara Tunnel today was carried out as part of safety measures for the works being carried out on the tunnel's connecting roads.

The planned explosion was carried out at 12:30, in the presence of the State Police, with the aim of disciplining and managing the circulation of vehicles. Given that traffic during this period is minimal, the road was blocked for about 20 minutes. After the completion of the process and the cleaning of the area, circulation continued normally.

The works are part of the road segment of the roads connecting to the Llogara Tunnel and aim to rehabilitate the existing road over a length of about 1 km from the tunnel exit on the Palasa side to the intersection with the new Palasa-Dhermi road. Currently, work is being done to expand the existing axis, as well as to build a new axis of about 600 meters, where excavation works for the road body are being carried out.

During the excavation process, in cases where hard rock material is found, it is necessary to use explosions with small amounts of explosives. It is expected that 5-6 more explosions will be carried out, with the next explosion likely to be carried out on Wednesday.

The works are continuing at a high pace with the aim of completing them before the summer season.
