Albania is accepted as an associated participating country in the “Three Seas” initiative

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, announced today from Warsaw the acceptance of Albania as an associated participating country in the "Three Seas" Initiative, a platform composed of EU countries located between the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the Adriatic.
During the "Three Seas Initiative" Summit held today in Poland, President Begaj emphasized the importance of Albania's full membership in this strategic platform.
"Our presence within the Three Seas Initiative would further consolidate the southeastern wing of this initiative and enhance its role in the strategic perspective, especially in matters of security cooperation, democratic sustainability and transatlantic coordination," President Begaj declared to the leaders of the member countries and strategic partners of the initiative.
Albania, as a member of NATO and in fruitful negotiations for EU membership, with its presence guarantees consolidation and brings joint progress to the Three Seas Initiative.
President Begaj once again emphasized Albania's role as an important contributor to regional security and a bridge between Southeast Europe and the Euro-Atlantic space.
During his speech at the summit, President Begaj stated that Albania is clear and determined to be part of the Three Seas Initiative, as it strongly believes in the fundamental values of this project and such an aspiration is based on conviction and contribution.
While describing the Three Seas Initiative as a necessary pillar for continental stability in the face of geopolitical uncertainties, the President of the Republic stated: "We believe that this platform offers concrete opportunities for joint progress and we are also more than convinced that Albania would be an added value for the initiative, both in political and economic terms."
The Head of State listed Albania's final steps in the European Union membership negotiations, reaffirming Albania's will to close them within two years and full membership in the Union in 2030.
Stressing the importance of connectivity through projects, President Begaj underlined during his speech at the summit that Albania is committed to developing infrastructure in the energy, transport and digitalization sectors.
The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, used this summit to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts as well as with high-ranking personalities from the participating countries.
