Scandal/ Ervis Martinaj's luxury cars in the hands of the state, municipal officials drive around in the gambling boss's vehicles

The luxury vehicles of crime bosses, seized by the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, are now being used by central institutions.

The Sequestered and Confiscated Assets Administration Agency has distributed most of these vehicles for institutional services. Among the vehicles that now serve the institutions is the fleet of former gambling boss Ervis Martinaj, who has been missing without a trace since August 2022.

Some of his vehicles have been loaned to a small municipality, which is using them for institutional needs.

AAPSK has announced to VNA that it currently administers 190 movable assets, including vehicles, motorcycles and watercraft. During 2025, of these assets: 45 vehicles were donated to state institutions, 32 others are administered on lease to institutions, while 11 vehicles were transferred to the use of the National Bureau of Investigation and SPAK. In total, for 2025, 88 vehicles were handled through various forms of institutional administration.

We recall that in February 2023, SPAK seized 34 assets worth millions of euros belonging to Ervis Martinaj. Among the confiscated vehicles were: a Smart Passion and a Land Rover Discovery, as well as a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350, a Fiat Fiesta and a BMW M550.

To this day, the betting businessman and one of the most powerful gambling figures in the country remains missing without a trace.

Many hypotheses have been put forward about his disappearance, from an alliance of criminal groups to get rid of him, to the possibility that he himself withdrew from activity, due to the great offensive of his rivals. However, all of them have remained mere hypotheses.

Officially, Ervis Martinaj has been missing without a trace since August 10, 2022, and for this fact, the family filed a report with the Lezha Police on the same date. They were the ones who found the security camera footage days later, handing it over to the authorities.
