He was raped by the owner of the "Stockholm" bar, businessman Laert

The owner of the "Tokyo" bar in Tirana, Laert Kasaj, was brutally raped on Tuesday near his business, near the "Delijorgji" complex.

The well-known businessman has reacted through a public letter regarding the event, explaining his version of what happened.

Kasaj refutes the news spread in some media outlets, according to which he was raped after denouncing to Prime Minister Rama the occupation of public spaces by perpetrators of violence. He also appeals to the media to publish only verified news and not manipulate the truth.

Reaction:

In these difficult days for me and my family, I feel the need to share a few words with the public. Two days ago, I was the subject of a violent, premeditated and organized attack by specific individuals who came to my office equipped with heavy weapons.

Despite the fact that it was an unprovoked event, instead of condemning the violence, attempts were made to justify it, even accusing me of instigating it myself. The reason for all this, according to the authors themselves, was a post shared by an online portal, in which their bar is mentioned among others. Ironically, in that post, the bar owned by me is the one seen in some of the photos, while others, including the authors' bar, are less reflected.

However, this was enough to target me. Furthermore, false news has been spread that I have filed complaints with the Prime Minister against the perpetrators. This is an absurd claim, as I have no contact with the Prime Minister and, after about 20 years in business, I have no need to deal with other people's affairs, much less with people who are not even my competitors. I own 12 companies that are among the most successful in Albania in their fields.

These businesses employ around 250 employees, who give their best every day with dedication and professionalism. They do not have to face uncertainty or fear, due to an unfair campaign that has nothing to do with our work.

In this difficult climate, I am also concerned about how some online portals publish whatever gets them clicks, without verifying the sources, without being interested in the truth, without thinking about the consequences they bring to people. This is dangerous behavior, which fuels violence, hatred and a sense of injustice.

In conclusion, I have decided to pursue all legal avenues to protect my dignity, the truth, and my right not to be subjected to violence and defamation.
