A guesthouse in Librazhd was engulfed in flames, caused by an electrical fault

A serious incident was recorded during the night hours in the village of Dorëz, in the Administrative Unit of Librazhd Center, where a wooden guesthouse was engulfed in flames, suffering significant material damage.
According to preliminary data, the Police were notified at 22:46 about the fire in the guesthouse owned by citizen Enver Shkurti. Immediately after the alert, firefighters, police and residents of the area were deployed to the scene, who cooperated in bringing the flames under control.
The fire extinguishing operation involved 12 firefighters with 2 fire engines, who worked for several hours in difficult conditions, until the flames were completely neutralized at 03:00 in the morning on April 10, 2026.
Sources from the investigation group indicate that the cause of the fire is suspected to have been a defect in the depreciated electrical network, which caused the rapid spread of flames, also favored by the wooden construction of the building.
As a result of the fire, approximately 80 m² of the guesthouse's surface area was burned, including the kitchen, bedroom and toilet. The building was used for tourist activities.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, while the material damage is considerable.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, while the case brings to attention the importance of checking and maintaining electrical installations, especially in tourist facilities and constructions susceptible to fire.
