Votes by candidate/ Election of RTSH director fails, Steering Council meets on Friday for another vote

The Board of Directors of Radio Television of Albania is expected to meet once again on Friday to elect the new General Director of RTSH.

At Thursday's meeting, Council members voted secretly for the 12 candidates, who the day before publicly presented their platforms and vision for public media.

At the end of the vote, the chairman of the RTSH Steering Council, Fatjon Hoxhalli, concluded that none of the candidacies secured the predicted majority of votes for the first vote.

" Since this vote did not achieve the result of 3/5, as provided by law for the first vote, i.e. 7 votes for a candidate, this vote is unsuccessful. We must move on to a second vote within 7 days, as provided by the Statute of the Albanian Public Radio and Television, " declared the chairman, Mr. Hoxhalli.

The next meeting of the RTSH Steering Council has been announced for Friday at 10:00.
