Muhammad Saqib Khan, 24, has been sentenced to life in prison by a British court for his role in the murder of 26-year-old Anselam Senaj in London.

Senaj was stabbed while sitting in the back of a taxi in the Neuham neighborhood on November 11, 2022.

The attack, which occurred after the taxi was cornered by a stolen vehicle and in which masked men attacked the victim, is linked to a conflict within the drug world, according to police.

Senaj died at the scene, while shocking footage showed the taxi driver calmly emerging from the attack; his exact role is still under investigation.

After the murder, Khan fled to Amsterdam, where he was arrested by Dutch police on December 4, 2022. He was extradited to the United Kingdom in early 2023 to face trial.

In addition to Khan, Muhammad Samiyul Miah, Ibrahim Naim and Zain Ali were also convicted; Miah was also sentenced to life imprisonment, Ali to 14 years and Naim to 10.5 years in prison.

According to the British Crown Prosecution Service, it was a planned and ruthless assassination, with forensic evidence such as clothing marks and phone records confirming the involvement of four suspects.

Detective Brett Hagen called the murder "brutal and cold-blooded" and stressed that Senaj had no chance to defend himself.

He praised the rapid international cooperation between British and Dutch authorities that led to Khan's arrest.

According to Hagen, this case highlights the importance of cross-border cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
