Blendi Gonxhe, where are you?/ Max Amini just sold 2 million euros of tickets in Tirana, without you!

Have you forgotten how the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Blendi Gonxhe, and after him the entire government, persistently distributed posts, announcements and promotions for the Kanye West concert, putting the entire state apparatus into motion to sell concert tickets, and in the end they failed and made the decision to forgive 4 million euros from the state budget to an international artist? While the state deals with "gifts" of millions of euros to big names in showbiz, art and private entrepreneurship are showing that true success does not need the government's seal or sponsorship.
World-famous comedian Max Amini has just done what few expected: he has completely sold out 4 consecutive shows at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana within two days.
Calendar of sold-out shows:
November 28, 2026 – 6:00 PM (English)
November 28, 2026 – 9:00 PM (English)
November 29, 2026 – 5:00 PM (English)
November 29, 2026 – 8:00 PM (English)
The selected date is not simply a calendar coincidence, but carries a strong national symbolism. Max Amini chose to take the stage during the most important holidays for Albanians: November 28 (Independence and Flag Day) and November 29 (Liberation Day).
With a capacity of 2,100 seats for each show, Amini managed to gather 8,400 spectators in total. With an average ticket price of 245 euros (and with the Meet & Greet option adding another 100 euros to the base price), the total turnover generated by this activity reaches the figure of around 2 million euros in just 48 hours.
And all this happened in complete administrative silence! While the Minister of Culture, Blendi Gonxhe, was torn to pieces promoting Kanye West and guaranteeing him staggering financial support from taxpayers' money, Max Amini came right on the nation's most festive days, filled the hall four times in a row and achieved a financial and artistic success without a single lek from the state budget and without any help from the ministry.
This case leaves an open question about the management of public money in the arts: Why should the government give millions of euros to foreign artists, when the Albanian public is willing to fill the halls themselves when the art and organization are of a high level? / Vna.al
