EU Cyber Agency: Power outage in Spain, Portugal and southern France, technical error

After a power outage in Spain, Portugal and southern France, power has begun to be restored in some areas.
According to the European Union Agency for Information Security (ENISA), initial investigations into the cause of the power outages in Spain, Portugal and southern France have shown that there was a technical problem and not a cyberattack.
"The investigation so far seems to indicate that it is a technical or cable issue. However, the situation is being closely monitored and we are in contact with the competent authorities at national and community level," he said.
Meanwhile, Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro also stated that there are no indications of a cyberattack.
"There is no indication that the power outage that mainly affected Spain and Portugal was caused by a cyberattack," he said.
