Air Force One lands in Milan, US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Air Force One landed in Milan at noon Thursday, bringing US Vice President JD Vance to the city, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
They will attend the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, which takes place tomorrow at the San Siro stadium.
The ceremony is expected to be spectacular, with 1,340 athletes, while renowned artists Andrea Bocelli, Mariah Carey and Laura Pausini will perform.

According to Italian media, the event will also be attended by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as well as thirteen other European presidents and seven prime ministers.
Also expected to arrive are French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prince William with his wife Kate, while Prince Albert of Monaco and the kings of Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands have confirmed their participation.
Security measures are draconian. Over 6,000 police, carabinieri, firefighters and other special forces have been deployed, including elite snipers, to guarantee a safe ceremony for all participants and the public.
Upon arrival, JD Vance and Marco Rubio will meet with the US team athletes in Milan before the start of the Games.
