French First Lady Brigitte Macron has denied allegations surrounding a reported incident during a presidential trip last year that the cause of the 'famous' slap on President Emmanuel Macron was some messages sent to the famous Iranian-French actress Golshifteh Farahani.
A person close to Brigitte Macron said she "categorically denied" claims that the altercation on the flight to Vietnam last year was linked to revelations about alleged text messages between Macron and the actress.
“Brigitte Macron categorically denied this confession directly to the author on March 5. Specifying that she never looks at her husband's cell phone.”
The comments followed the publication of a new book by journalist Florian Tardif titled "A (Almost) Perfect Couple." The book claims that Brigitte Macron "lost her temper" after allegedly discovering a message on her husband's phone.
"You look very beautiful to me," Macron allegedly told her in one of the messages. Tardif also described the relationship with the actress as a "platonic relationship," while some messages "went quite far," based on material he said was obtained by people close to the president.
