Two Albanian brothers in Italy fight over a Moldovan

Two brothers of Albanian origin, residing in Mestre, Italy, have been arrested by Italian authorities after a violent clash with firearms and knives, where a young girl of Moldovan origin is suspected to have been at the center of the conflict.

The incident took place on November 10 in Mogliano Veneto, in the area of Via Italo Svevo, near a high school, where, according to Italian media, two groups of Albanians had organized a meeting to “settle scores.” The situation quickly escalated into the use of cold weapons and firearms, causing panic in the area and injuring several people.

Following investigations conducted by the Carabinieri and coordinated by the Treviso Prosecutor's Office, two security measures were executed against the suspects on Tuesday, May 12.

A 31-year-old Albanian was placed under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, while another 22-year-old was taken into custody. Italian authorities have announced that a third person will be questioned by the court to determine the security measure against him. According to preliminary investigations, the conflict had personal motives and was related to relations with a Moldovan girl, which led to the escalation of violence between the parties.

Several people were injured in the collision, including a 34-year-old homeless man who was stabbed and later arrested for shooting at cars parked in the area.

Another 35-year-old from Mestre was shot in the chest, while another 35-year-old Albanian received wounds to his limbs and ribs during the conflict. The suspects are accused of aggravated assault, attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons, while investigations continue to identify the role of each person involved in the serious incident.
