Araghchi blames US for failure of talks in Pakistan

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today accused the United States of being responsible for the failure of peace talks in Pakistan, following his arrival in Russia, where he is expected to meet with President Vladimir Putin.

"American approaches caused the previous round of negotiations, despite progress, to fail to achieve its objectives due to excessive demands," Araqchi stated, according to Iranian state media.

He also stressed that "the security of passage through the Strait of Hormuz is an important global issue."

The US and Iran continue to clash and standoff at this strategic crossroads.
