According to information from the British newspaper "The Times", Khamenei, who holds the official title "Supreme Leader", has ordered the preparation of an emergency plan to leave the country in case the unrest escalates.

It is no surprise, since on the international stage, the Kremlin boss, Vladimir Putin (73 years old), is one of Iran's last allies. In the Middle East, the mullahs are increasingly isolated, and after the successful Israeli attacks on the Iranian nuclear program in June 2025, they have also been exposed militarily.
Along with Khamenei's family members - including his son and intended successor, Mojtaba - a close circle of up to 20 advisers are also expected to flee. In a psychological profile prepared by a Western intelligence agency, Khamenei is described as weakened – both mentally and physically. He is increasingly compensating for this with paranoia.
