The world today bids farewell to Pope Francis, who passed away in Rome on April 21, at the age of 88.

The rite for the burial of the Holy Father has begun as the bells have rung in St. Peter's Square.

More than 50 heads of state are attending today's funeral.

We've seen many of them already, including Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a Catholic who had a close relationship with Pope Francis.

US President Donald Trump has just taken his seat outside.

French President Emmanuel Macron has also just paid his respects to Francis' coffin at the basilica, which will soon be held in St. Peter's Square.

Representatives from Albania will also participate in the funeral ceremony for Pope Francis.

The Albanian delegation includes President Bajram Begaj with his wife, Foreign Minister Igli Hasani, Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption, Adea Pirdeni, as well as the Albanian Ambassador to the Vatican, Adea Pirdenji.

Also participating will be religious leaders in Albania: Head of the Catholic Church, Arjan Dodaj, Head of the Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu, Head of the Bektashi Order, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, and Archbishop of the Orthodox Church, Joani.

Also participating from Kosovo is President Vjosa Osmani, who appeared at the tribute the day before along with the Albanian delegation and Cardinal Ernest Troshani.
