"The escalation in the Middle East with the US and Israel's war against Iran was a big mistake," Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has declared.

Sanchez has also underlined that the US intervention is illegal, underlining that Cyprus in this case is a victim.

According to him, there should be cooperation, even though the Spanish prime minister has been harshly criticized, he has not changed his position.

"Let cooperation prevail, not rivalry. Threats and accusations are not the right path. It is good to help each other among allied countries, but this war was a big mistake for which we will pay," he said.
