Unbelievable! Woman believes she is dating Iglesias, victim of online scam

A 63-year-old woman from Los Angeles, Guadalupe Cepeda, has fallen prey to an online scam, believing for two years that she was in a romantic relationship with the famous Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
Cepeda, an ardent fan of the artist for more than two decades, was contacted on social media by a person claiming to be Iglesias. He had found her in a fan group and initially convinced her that a special bond was forming between them.
In the name of love, she sent the scammer thousands of dollars, believing he needed financial help. When she told him she had no more money, he even urged her to steal from her husband or find another way to support him.
Her husband discovered the deception when he came across the messages on her phone. Despite his efforts to open her eyes, Cepeda refused to believe the reality, even when it came to light that the messages were being traced from Nigeria.
The situation came to a head when her husband sought help from the show Primer Impacto on Univisión, exposing the fraud. Surprisingly, even after discovering the truth, Cepeda is still not completely convinced that her “Enrique” is not the famous singer.
Recently, Iglesias reacted on Instagram, warning fans not to fall prey to scams and to only follow his official accounts.
Online romance scams are increasingly common, affecting people of all ages and backgrounds. This story is a painful reminder to be careful in online communications.
