Attacks in the Middle East: Britain, France and Germany react to joint statement: Ready to defend our interests

The leaders of Britain, France and Germany said they were ready to take concrete steps to protect their interests in the region, following what they described as "indiscriminate and disproportionate" missile attacks by Iran.

The three countries, known as the E-3 group, stressed that they will act in coordination with allies to ensure security in the region.

" We will take steps to protect our interests and those of our allies in the region, potentially by shooting down missiles and drones at their source. We have agreed to work together with the US and allies in the region on this ," the joint statement said.

The statement signals a tougher stance by European powers in the face of the escalating situation in the Middle East and closer coordination with the United States.
