Aid agencies are continuing to take advantage of the current ceasefire to provide food and water to Palestinians. There are about 1.7 million internally displaced Palestinians, many of whom have moved to southern Gaza away from the most intense fighting.

Overcrowding, lack of food, water and basic hygiene are accelerating the spread of disease in Gaza, according to the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO).

More than 110,000 people have acute respiratory infections and thousands more are affected by diseases such as scabies, lice, skin rashes, jaundice, etc.
