Friedrich Merz after the CDU-SPD agreement: Germany has a government ready for action! How the ministries are expected to be divided

Christian Democratic Party (CDU) leader and future chancellor Friedrich Merz described the agreement between the Christian Democratic Union (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) to form a federal government as a "very strong and clear message" to Germany's citizens and the country's partners.

 "Germany is preparing a government ready for action," Merz said.

" What is at stake is the future of the country, the future of the citizens and the future of Europe," said Friedrich Merz and emphasized that this, combined with international conditions, constitutes additional pressure to make the best possible and most reliable decisions.

In the next government, CDU politicians will have the ministries of Economy and Energy, Foreign Affairs, Education and Family, Health, Communications and Digital Transition-Modernization of the State.

Also, the ministries of the Interior, Research, Technology and Space will be filled with officials from the Christian Social Union (CSU), while the SPD will take over the ministries of Finance, Justice, Labor and Social Affairs, Defense, Environment, Climate Protection and the Environment, Development Cooperation and Construction.
