Earthquake hits Greece for the 4th time in a day, strong tremors felt as far as Athens

A new earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale occurred shortly after 4:00 PM (local Greek time) in Skiathos, which was also felt in the Attica region and the capital Athens.
According to the automatic solution of the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake is located 4 kilometers north-northwest of the island with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
According to OASP president Efthimios Lekkas, the earthquake occurred on a known mapped fault.
"We will have to monitor the phenomenon in the coming hours, it is logical that it does not inspire particular concern," he characteristically emphasized while speaking to "Protothema.gr".
Seismic tremors, which were felt as far as Attica, were also recorded earlier in the region, specifically shortly after 2:00 PM.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, occurred 8 km west of the island and had a focal depth of 13.1 kilometers. It was also followed by two other, lighter tremors, with strengths of 3.3 and 2.4.
