Israel bombs weapons depot in northwest Syria
The Israeli army announced this evening that it had struck a military facility, housing a weapons depot in northwestern Syria, while the Syrian news agency and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported an explosion near the port of Tartus.

The Israeli military said it struck a military location where weapons belonging to the former Syrian regime were stored in the Qardha region of Syria.

The Syrian Observatory reported an explosion at a military base near the port of Tartus after an Israeli jet flew over the area.

Syrian state news agency SANA said Israeli shelling hit the Tartus region in western Syria.

"Airstrikes by Israeli aircraft in the Tartus area," SANA reported, without mentioning casualties, explaining that civil defense and specialized teams are working to confirm which targets were hit.
