Analyst Ergys Mërtiri commented on the Now show on Euronews Albania on the primaries held two days ago by the Democratic Party.
According to Mërtir, this process was characterized by bargaining and those who won were Berisha's people.
"I was sure that Berisha's people would win and they did. There were some of his supporters who were left aside due to the bargaining that Berisha makes and the need to maintain balance within the parliamentary group. For example, one thing that makes you suspicious is that people from Gazment Bardhi's group received votes, or people who were against Berisha and gained the hatred of Berisha's supporters. For example, Jorida Tabaku was a hated person until recently and it seems a bit strange to me that hatred turned into love in such a short time. A Berisha supporter like Adriana Kalaja, who set fire to the door of the municipality and who, according to that party's logic, should have enjoyed support, received 130 votes, this leaves us to doubt the process. We have inflated numbers, you know, in certain areas like in unit 8 where up to 200 people vote, these people get 700 ," said Mërtiri.
