Ahead of his face-to-face meeting with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in St. Peter's Basilica, US President Donald Trump reportedly told French President Emmanuel Macron: "You're not in the right place here." British tabloid The Sun revealed this after consulting lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling.
A video released yesterday afternoon by White House staff shows Trump and Zelensky walking to chairs set up for them by Vatican officials, joining Macron, who embraces the Ukrainian president. At that moment, Trump reaches out his hand to both of them and pulls them towards him. He then turns to Macron. “You’re not in the right place here. I need you to do me a favor, you don’t have to be here,” the White House leader reportedly told Macron, as Zelensky nodded in approval.
