Lebanon's ultimatum to Israel: Without a complete ceasefire, there are no negotiations!

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has stated that his country expects the White House to set a date for the start of direct negotiations with Israel.
During a speech to local entrepreneurs, Aoun stressed that dialogue remains the only way to guarantee security, setting as a precondition the achievement of a complete ceasefire.
"The only way for Israel to achieve security is through negotiations, but first it must accept a complete ceasefire," the Lebanese president said.
He stressed that without a complete cessation of hostilities, any attempt at dialogue will be difficult to achieve. Aoun also warned that Israel's use of force will not bring the intended results.
"If Israel thinks that through violations and destruction of border villages it can provide protection, then it is mistaken, as this has been tried before without success," the President declared.
Meanwhile, the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, brokered by the United States and launched on April 16, has been extended for another three weeks.
The news was announced by US President Donald Trump during meetings in Washington with the ambassadors of Israel and Lebanon, despite ongoing tensions on the border.
