War in the Middle East, Jordan accuses Israel: Aims to expel Palestinians from

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said on Sunday that Israel is pursuing a policy of forcing Palestinians to flee Gaza through a war that meets the "legal definition of genocide".

Israel has rejected these accusations, describing them as "untruths".

Safadi, whose country is defined by the West Bank and accepted most Palestinians after the creation of Israel in 1948, stressed that Israel has pursued hatred that will plague the region and define generations to come.

Israel is facing criticism and calls for a cease-fire because it has killed thousands of Palestinian civilians and displaced nearly 85 percent of Gaza's 2.3 million residents inside the besieged territory, where, according to the UN, no one remains. no safe place to shelter.

"What we are seeing in Gaza is not just the killing of innocent people and the destruction of their settlements [by Israel] but a systematic effort to empty all of Gaza," Safadi told a conference in Doha.

Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy dismissed Jordan's accusations, saying, "Of course, these are untrue and insulting accusations."

"Israel is fighting to protect itself from the monsters that perpetrated the massacre of October 7, and the goal of our offensive is to bring these monsters to justice and make sure they can never hurt our people again," Levy said.

Israel has called on civilians in Gaza to leave the battlefields for their own safety and wants others to repeat this call, Levy said./ REL
