War in Ukraine, NATO chief expected to hold meetings with senior US officials in Washington

The NATO Secretary General will meet with senior US officials over the next two days in Washington.

Mark Rutte has held talks with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and will also meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump's national security adviser, Mike Waltz.

The meetings come after Rubio pulled out of high-level talks in London yesterday along with envoy Steve Witkoff, somewhat leaving Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg to lead the delegation.

It is Rutte's second trip to the US capital in as many months, after he met with Trump at the White House in March.
