Iran deal nearing completion? Trump: Pact could be signed on Sunday

US President Donald Trump said a deal between the United States and Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, expressing optimism that it will lead to the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and advancing negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said that “immediately after the deal is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all.” He added that, at a later stage, the United States would take Iran’s enriched nuclear material to destroy it, noting that this would be accomplished thanks to operations enabled by B-2 bombers.
Trump said he hopes the process will be "quick, easy and smooth," but warned that Washington also has the "ultimate alternative" in case the negotiations do not yield the desired results.
According to a senior US administration official, the memorandum of understanding being negotiated between the US and Iran would open a 60-day period of technical negotiations after signing. This phase would focus on the details of implementing the commitments set out in the agreement.
The document sets out several key demands on Iran, including dismantling its nuclear program, guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and transferring or destroying enriched nuclear material under US supervision.
